ScienceDaily (Mar. 16, 2009) — Children exposed to a multi-year programme of music tuition involving training in increasingly complex rhythmic, tonal, and practical skills display superior cognitive performance in reading skills compared with their non-musically trained peers, according to a study published in the journal Psychology of Music. In my own experience since I started studying it at the age of 7, playing the piano helped me a lot especially in my reading skills. I'm not easily confused when I'm reading books with tons of words. It helped me learn to love reading books not only music books. It also improved my non-musical abilities(eg, linguistic, mathematical, and spatial). For more information go to Science Daily.com
